Greece Rising
Relatively new info about the Greek situation can be found on the blog of agorist Royce Christian.
For those of you interested in hypothetical political scenarios, I have one you could think about: Suppose a powerful nation or group of nations intervene in Greece to put down unrest. Who is likely to do so, what would their goals be, what form would their intervention take, and what would probable and/or proper responses be?
While you think about that, enjoy this picture I found on Facebook.

Candidate intervenors: The US (unlikely), a multinational EU force under a newly-minted authority (terrifying), NATO, a UN peacekeeping (ie, state-propping) mission.
Candidate goals: Preserve the form of the Greek state, even if its leadership changes, preserve the territorial integrity of the Greek state, prevent secession, exclude people advocating fundamental changes from political discourse, preserve the EU, seize greater control of Greek society and resources, support the interests of Greek capital, defend the interests of Greece’s creditors.
Candidate interventions: Deployment of military peacekeepers, deployment of military election observers, deployment of a military force for a “police action” (as in Korea half a century ago), increased funding to pro-state and pro-capital groups, funding and training to agents provocateurs and “independent” NGOs battling the unrest in the intellectual sphere, assassination, false flag attacks directed at popular assets and credited to anti-government groups, funding and training for increased intelligence service infiltration of anti-government groups.
Candidate responses: Sky’s the limit, really…
I’m sure others can think of even more possibilities here. It’s a good bet that some of the “funding” items are already being implemented.

I’m actually wondering if Greece will turn out like a Spanish Civil War situation. Far right groups have been coming out of the woodwork, just as the Anarchists are becomming more vocal. Though it’s a far off chance, I’m thinking that if the unrest goes on long enough, then their might be a military coup dividing the country. Then you might see an EU force intervene. I’m already seeing parallels, such as the action by the state-socialists in unions, the taking over of another union by the Anarchists (and townhalls, TV stations), the street battles and the sympathetic locals joining in. these are certainly curious times we live in.

And typical for me, I didn’t even count the corporate interventions that are possible:
