“The Coalition of Immokalee Workers, a community-based union in Central Florida that has been winning a series of remarkable victories on wages and conditions for Florida farmworkers, with no government recognition and through the creative use of secondary boycotts and other forms wildcat unionism, has just announced another major victory in the struggle.”
Yet many libertarians will say the CIW is a statist gang that hopes to cartelize labor and will make life worse for workers. And that I’m displaying my economic ignorance by applauding them, because only bosses should try to maximize profits. And the same might even say it’s a wise political move to throw all my efforts into supporting politicians who are a little less statist than the other choices.
