Treasury Department Prepares to Take Greater Hold of American Economy; US Military Preparing Active Force For Domestic Missions
William N. Grigg writes:
During the nearly eight years his presidency has blighted our country, the Bushling has been a roving epicenter of disaster. And he has greeted each crisis with an indecent, if throughly predictable, eagerness to expand his own power, and that of the embedded oligarchy that produced him.
Grigg describes how the new bailout proposal, in addition to promising $700 billion in stolen money to corporate interests, gives the government greatly expanded and less accountable control of the economy. We can guess who the beneficiaries of this measure written by the rich and connected will be. “All your wealth are belong to us,” indeed.
He also links to an Army Times report, which says in part:
The command is at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo., but the soldiers with 1st BCT, who returned in April after 15 months in Iraq, will operate out of their home post at Fort Stewart, Ga., where they’ll be able to go to school, spend time with their families and train for their new homeland mission as well as the counterinsurgency mission in the war zones…
…In the meantime, they’ll learn new skills, use some of the ones they acquired in the war zone and more than likely will not be shot at while doing any of it.
They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack…
…The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.
In case the last two decades of federal abuses and unrestricted police power haven’t clued you in, the government’s definition of “unruly or dangerous individuals” means people who they believe threaten their power and/or people they feel like hurting.
I might have said it before, but I don’t think I’ve said it online: whether intentional or not, the continued occupation of Iraq prepares the United States military to better subdue other populations, including that of America.
Things will likely get worse before they get better. How much worse they get is not entirely out of our control. See the post below this one.
